Handwara, Mar 15 (KNS): Awami Ittehad Party block president from Galoora area of Langate in Kupwara district died of heart attack on Tuesday evening.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that Showket Hussain Khan (38) son of Ghulam Ahmad Khan,  who was close aide of Er Rasheed has breathed his last due to a massive heart attack at his home this evening.

They said that his sudden death has sent shock waves in the locality as he was known for his polite nature.

Meanwhile, AIP leadership has expressed shock over the sudden demise of their party leader.

"I find no courage to convey that a dear friend and AIP block president Pohru Showkat Khan is no more. May Allah grant him highest place in Jannah," spokesperson of AIP, Firdous Baba informed in a Tweet.

AIP general secretary, Prince Parvaiz, while expressing sorrow over demise of Showkat said that he always stood for the development of his area. (KNS)
