Srinagar, May 18 (KNS): Ahead of G20 Summit in the Kashmir, commandos of the elite National Security Guards (NSG) on Thursday carrier out searches in the city centre Lal Chowk in Srinagar.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that NSG commandos along with CRPF and police searched commercial establishments including hotels, shops and other complexes.

He said that ahead of the historic G20 Summit heightened security arrangements have been put place to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for the global meet.

Meanwhile, Marine commandos have also been deployed in Dal lake to ensure foolproof security measures around the SKICC, where the G20 Summit will be held on May 22.

The Marine commandos have been patrolling the Dal Lake for the last 2 days.

The historic G20 Summit is scheduled to be held in the Kashmir Valley from May 22 to 25 with the local administration leaving no stone unturned to ensure the summit unfolds flawlessly. (KNS)
