Advisor Khan visits B'la; Took Stock of Winter, Election Preparedness

Baramulla, November 19:(KNS) Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan today paid visit to Baramulla district where he chaired a meeting of concerned officers at dak bungalow to take stock of various necessary arrangements in the wake of upcoming winter season. The Advisor also took a brief review of various necessities put in place for the smooth conduct of upcoming DDC, ULB and Panchayat Bi-elections.

On the occasion, District Development Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo briefed the Advisor about various arrangements that have been made by the district administration in this regard. He informed that arrangements pertaining to heating, lighting and other vital necessities have already been put in place well in advance in all the designated polling stations so that minimum assured facilitates are provided.

Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure that all the requisite arrangements are smoothly put in place so that the people may not face any inconvenience in the coming winters. He stressed upon the PDD authorities to strictly adhere to the curtailment schedule and provide uninterrupted power supply during the schedule hours. He also directed to work in coordination and cohesion and mobilize all the available resources in this regard. Moreover, the Advisor emphasized to put in place a viable mechanism so that any kind of exigency, if any can be tackled smoothly.

The Advisor also directed the Mechanical authorities to keep men and machinery ready so as to tackle any emergency that may arise due to the snowfall.

Chief Engineer PDD, SSP Baramulla, heads of various line departments, EXNs among other concerned officers were present on the occasion.(KNS)
