 Bandipora, Mar 12 (KNS): The office of the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has directed teachers who have not resumed duties after the expiry of their sanctioned leave to immediately report to their respective schools, officials said on Friday.

In a circular issued on March 12, the ZEO office said it has taken serious note of several teachers failing to rejoin duty despite the completion of their leave period.

“All such teaching staff are hereby directed to resume their duties immediately without any further delay,” the circular said.

The authorities said schools in the Gurez zone are currently facing a shortage of teaching staff, which is affecting the functioning of educational institutions and academic activities of students.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

In view of the situation, the circular made it clear that no extension of any kind of leave will be granted to the concerned employees.

The ZEO office also warned that failure to comply with the instructions would invite disciplinary action under the relevant service rules.

Officials said the directive has been issued to ensure smooth functioning of schools and to avoid disruption in the teaching process due to staff shortages.

The circular, marked as “most urgent”, has been forwarded to the Chief Education Officer Bandipora for information and to all heads of institutions in the zone for strict compliance.(KNS).
