Sopore April 01 (KNS): J&K Peoples Conference Sr. Vice President and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil on Friday visited different villages of Rafiabad and Sopore namely Botingoo, Shercolony, Sonen Saidnaar including Dangerpora Sopore where an unfortunate incident had taken place- a Son had killed his mother. Expressing sympathies with the bereaved family Vakil said that this incident is a glaring example of drug abusers being dangerous not only for themselves, but also for their family and the society at large.
Vakil appreciated the efforts of police in nabbing the culprit quickly but urged the people to come forward and report drug abuse both inside and outside of their family so that immediate rehabilitation process can be initiated.
Abdul Gani Vakil also emphasized on the role of religious scholars in helping to get rid of the drug menace. Religious scholars, influencers need to move in and counsel the younger generation.
We as a society need to act soon. Vakil added. (KNS)
