Srinagar, Jan 21 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) has paid tributes to the martyrs of Gawkadal on their 32nd martyrdom anniversary and said that despite the passage of more than three decades, the families of the martyrs are still awaiting justice. 

AAC in a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that their are dozens of such incidents where innocent people were killed in broad day light.

It also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of a woman and the burning of half around a dozen residential houses in a horrific fire incident at Aali Kadal.

Expressing condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased and the families of the fire victims, the AAC said that immediate relief and rehabilitation of the victims during the Chalai Kalan and severe cold is an Islamic and humanitarian duty and in this regard, welfare and relief agencies and organisations should come and help the victims.

The AAC, especially its incarcerated chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has urged the workers of Darul Khair Mirwaiz Manzil to immediately visit the area and ensure all possible assistance to the families. (KNS)
