AAC condoles demise of senior activist Muhammad Maqbool Mir, pays tributes

 Srinagar, Mar 2:(KNS) The Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Khawaja Muhammad Maqbool Mir, resident of Mohalla Ashraf Khan Kathi Darwaza, Srinagar. The deceased was a senior activist of the organisation, a close friend of Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq (RA) and associated with Mirwaiz Family 

 
In its condolence statement, the AAC termed Muhammad Maqbool Mir's long political career under the leadership of the Shaheed-e-Millat and his sincere efforts towards the organisation as highly valued and an example for the present day party workers. 
 
The AAC on behalf of the organisation, especially its incarcerated Chairman Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq who continues to be under illegal and arbitrary house arrest for the last two-and-a-half years, paid rich tributes to the deceased and termed him “a courageous soldier of the organisation”. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, due to his continued detention, could not participate in the funeral prayers of Muhammad Maqbool Sahib.
 
The Awami Action Committee expressed condolence with the Mir family, especially the deceased’s sons Mukhtar Ahmad Mir and Ghulam Nabi Mir; and prayed for Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family members.
 
According to family sources, the congregational Fateha Khawani of the deceased will be performed on March 4, 2022, after the Friday prayers at 2:30 pm at their ancestral graveyard Khushkhash Bagh near the Central Jail Srinagar. (KNS)
