Anantnag, Dec 13 (KNS) : Senior National Conference (NC) leader and District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, launched a sharp attack on the PDP, accusing it of engaging in “frivolous chest-beating” and dismissing the party’s recent statements as mere “political drama.”
In a statement issued, Shah said that the turmoil Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed in recent years is a direct consequence of the PDP’s actions.
He alleged that the PDP sought votes from the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the promise of keeping the BJP out of power, but later “betrayed public sentiment” by aligning with the BJP after securing the mandate. Shah further accused the party of indulging in nepotism and large-scale corruption.
Criticizing the PDP leadership for its “double standards” and “failure in governance,” Shah asserted that the NC stands vindicated for its consistent opposition to the BJP and for its pro-people policies and initiatives.
Welcoming several senior and influential workers from Teelwani village, which include Shabir Ah Ganie, Subzar Ah Ganie, Irshad Ah Bhat, Gh M sheikh, Mudasir Ah sheikh, Shakir Ah sheikh, Manzor Ah wagay, Mukhtar Ah Bhat, Ab Majeed sheikh and others into the NC fold, Shah said that grassroots workers within the PDP feel “suffocated” by the party’s “double-speak and hollow promises.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel” He claimed that people are now joining the NC in large numbers due to its pro-people approach and its long history of sacrifice in Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape.
Imran Shah added that despite Anantnag being the home base of two former Chief Ministers, the PDP has “lost its entire grassroots base” in the district due to its “continuous dramatic politics.” He said the people have not forgotten the “pellet, toffee, and milk remarks” nor the “jailing of thousands of youth” during PDP rule. Shah also criticized PDP leaders for “repeatedly courting the BJP” through frequent visits to Delhi and Nagpur.
He concluded by saying that the PDP should “look into its own cradle before pointing fingers at the NC.”(KNS)
