Guns roar along LoC in Karnah, Uri sectors

Srinagar, August 7 (KNS): The armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy fire along the Line of Control (LOC) in Karnah and Uri sectors of north kashmir's Kupwara and Baramullah districts on Friday.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the Indo-Pak armies exchanged small and heavy fire in Gabra, Hajitra, Sadhpora, Dhani area of Karnah sector, triggering panic among locals who rushed to safer places for saving their lives. Similar reports came from Boniyar Uri of north Kashmir where armies from both sides trade heavy exhange of artilery in wee hours of Friday which led to scare among villagers. However, no loss of life or property has been reported so far.

The exchange of firing was going on when this report was being filed.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla Abdul Qayoom told KNS that shelling from Uranboha is going on. (KNS)
