60-year-man injured in bear attack in Lawoosa Mawer Handwara

Srinagar, Sep 02 (KNS): A 60-year-old man sustained injuries in separate wild animal attacks in north Kashmir's Handwara area of Kupwara district.

 

According to the KNS Correspondent, Mohd Sultan Shiekh, a 60-years old man resident of Lawoosa Mawer, suffered a black bear attack while tending to her kitchen garden. 

 

The attack left him with severe injuries, prompting his immediate evacuation to District Hospital Handwara for treatment. 

 

Due to the extent of his injuries, he was later referred to District Hospital Baramullah in  for further medical care.

 

The occurrence of these distressing incidents has spread panic among the local villages, leading to a collective call for action from the wildlife department. 

 

Villagers urged authorities to take measures to trap or tranquilize the dangerous animals in order to prevent further tragedies.(KNS)
