IGP says killed militants were involved in 6 terror crimes including attack of outside labourers

 
 
Srinagar, Apr 14 (KNS): Four militants of LeT were killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Badigam area of Zainpora in Shopian district on Thursday, police said here.
 
An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that encounter broke out in Badigam village, following inputs about the presence of militants in the area. 
 
He said that during the ensuing encounter four militants of LeT outfit were killed, while search was going on.
 
Meanwhile, IGP Kashmir said that the killed militants were active in Shopian & adjacent areas of Pulwama. 
 
He said that they were involved in 6 terror crimes including attacks on outside labourers. “Hunt for their associates like Aijaz of Pulwama is on  and they will be neutralised soon,” he said.
 
Meanwhile, Shopian police in a Tweet informed that it was wrongly reported on social media that there was stone pelting and some army jawans received injuries in Kanipor area of Shopian.
 
“It is clarified that the information shared on social media was incorrect as it was not based on facts,” police said.
 
Police also said that a sumo carrying soldiers of 44 RR from Chowgam camp was on its wat to encounter site, however, driver of the vehicle lost control due to some technical fault.
 
It said that the vehicle skidded off the road, resulting in injuries to four soldiers of whom three succumbed to their injuries later. (KNS)
