4 absconders evading arrest for past many years arrested in Jammu: Police

Srinagar, May 07 (KNS): Four absconders who were evading arrested for the last many years were arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police in Jammu on Saturday.

 
According a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), an information was received at PS Akhnoor regarding an absconder namely Gurdeep Singh S/o Pritam Singh R/o Simbal Camp Miran Sahib Jammu who was evading his arrest since 1994 i.e 26 years in case FIR No. 227/1993 U/s 279/337 IPC of PS Akhnoor.
 
The statement reads that after this, a special police team of PS Akhnoor under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial were constituted. 
 
“The team led by SHO PS Akhnoor Inspr Hilal Azhar did strenuous efforts and finally arrested the accused from suspected location.”
 
It added that it is pertinent to mention that a warrant of arrest U/s 512 CrPC has also been  issued against the absconder by Court of JMIC Akhnoor. 
 
“Similarly an information was received at PS Gandhi Nagar regarding another absconder namely Ravi kumar S/O Shiv Nath R/O Rampura who was absconding since 22 years in case FIR No. 332/1995 under section 324/34 RPC 4/25 A.Act of PS GandhiNagar and two absconders namely Vikas Sharma S/O Ramesh Lal resident of Upper Laxmi Nagar and Rakesh Singh S/O Surjeet Singh R/O Sungal Akhnoor who were  absconding since 9 years in case FIR No 26/11 under section 353/109 RPC of PS Gandhi Nagar.”
 
It reads that on this, a special police team under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma were constituted. 
 
“The team led by SHO PS Gandhi Nagar Inspr Pankaj Sharma did strenuous efforts and finally arrested the above mentioned absconders.”
 
The statement added that it is pertinent to mention that absconder namely Ravi was produced before the Court and Court sent the said accused to District jail Amphalla Jammu. (KNS)
