300 deputations from Kashmir met Azad in 3 days

SRINAGAR SEPT 14 (KNS): Around 300 deputations from Kashmir have met former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in last 3 days. They extended their full support to Mr Azad and apprised him the problems and issues being faced by them.

The deputations include Ex MLAs, DDC members, Sarpanches, NGOs, Transporters, Traders, Social activists etc. Mr Azad spent 10-12 hours a day and also met people individually from different parts of the Kashmir valley and responded to queries on a wide range of issues brought-up by civil society members. Many DDC members, PCC office bearers from the Congress quit the party in solidarity with Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad.

The delegations start arriving at Guest house Srinagar at around 10 AM. Addressing his first public meeting after returning from Chenab valley, Mr Azad spelled out the agenda of his yet-to-be-named party and the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, protection of land and job rights of its residents on top of the list.  All delegations extended their unconditional support to Mr Azad and welcomed him back in Jammu and Kashmir. Not only former Congress workers, but people from other parties have also come in delegations to meet Mr Azad.

Azad gave a patient hearing to each and every delegation separately, thanked all of them for their whole hearted support and assured his full cooperation in taking up their genuine demands with the concerned quarters.(KNS)
