Jammu, July 07(KNS): At least three people were killed and 10 others injured after a bus met with an accident in Udhampur area Jammu region on Thursday evening, officials said here.
An official told Kashmir News service (KNS) that the bus was carrying a marriage party from Gundia village of Ramnagar and the accident was caused by over speeding. "Soon after the incident, the injured were rescued from the spot and evacuated to hospital for treatment," he said.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh offered his condolences to the bereaved families.
“Saddened to receive the news of road accident at Majodi, in Ramnagar area of district Udhampur. Just now spoke to DC, Krittika Jyotasna, she is keeping me constantly updated”, the Union Minister said in a tweet.
In an another tweet, Singh further said; “My condolences with bereaved families. All possible help being provided to the injured, those requiring to be referred for further treatment will be accordingly shifted-(KNS).
