Srinager, July 22(KNS): A gunfight has been broke out between militants and government forces in Warpora of Sopore in North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thrusday.

An official told Kashmir news service (KNS), that a Joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation after specific inputs about presence of militants in the area. 

“As the security forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. Exchange of fire is going on, " he said. 

Sources said that two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants are believed to be trapped in the area(KNS).
