Srinagar, Apr 01(KNS): In a major crackdown on drug peddling, the Baramulla Police has registered 75 cases under the NDPS Act and arrested 113 drug peddlers in the months of January, February, and March 2023.
The police as per the official data have also detained 7 drug peddlers under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and recovered contraband worth crores of rupees in the black market.
The extensive operation by the Baramulla Police also led to the recovery of contraband worth 4 crores, 34 lacs, and 61 thousand.
As per the data, the police seized 40.85 lacs in cash and 11 vehicles used by the drug traffickers in their nefarious activities
The police also requested the general public to come forward with the information of drug peddlers in their areas (identify will be kept confidential) in order to support police to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship.(KNS)
