SSP Doda says 7 seriously injured airlifted to Jammu, 7 others undergoing treatment at GMC Doda

Srinagar, Oct 28 (KNS): At least eleven persons were killed while 14 others were injured after a mini bus they were travelling in rolled down into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu division on Thursday morning, officials said.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), in charge superintendent of police Doda, Abdul Qayoom said that at least 11 persons were killed in the road accident when a mini-bus they were travelling in rolled down into a deep gorge on Thathri-Doda road today morning. 

He said that the accident occurred when the bus was coming from Thathri to Doda and in the accident at least 11 person's died while 14 others were injured. "Of the 14 injured, 7 seriously injured persons have been airlifted to Jammu and 7 others are undergoing treatment at GMC Doda," SSP said. 

He also said that the apparent cause of the accident was over speeding as the driver of the vehicle was trying to overtake another vehicle when the incident took place. 

SSP said that the rescue operation was carried out jointly by the police, local volunteers, SDRF and officials of district administration. (KNS)
