Bandipora, Apr 10 (KNS): The medical staff who went on a strike for some time earlier in Hajin earlier today said that they resumed work keeping in view the present situation arising out of Covid-19.

They said that they have resumed work only keeping in view the present situation and in the interest of public.

A statements issued to KNS reads "We didn't resume work after the intervention of SDM or by any other official but keeping in view the present situation due to Covid-19 because public healthcare is our topmost priority and we can not compromise with it," they said.

They said that even though some of them were on strike after DC Bandipora misbehaved with one of their senior colleague but their teams were still in the field tracing contacts of Covid positive patients in Hajin.

"Even after being abused by DC Bandipora, our colleagues were still in the field risking their lives and tracing the contacts of Covid-19 positive patients. We are at the forefront and we deserve some respect," said a doctor, who is posted in Hajin.

CMO Bandipora, Dr. Tajamul said that the medical staff showed resentment after DC's behaviour, however, they didnt resume work after SDM's intervention but only in the interest of public.

"Public healthcare in this situation arising out of Covid-19 is our topmost priority. We will never compromise on this. The staff resumed work only in the interest of public not due to the intervention of some official," he said.(KNS)
