Jammu August:(KNS) Dozens of Youth Congress leaders and activist led by its J&K President, Uday Bhanu Chib held a protest demonstration against Narayana Hospital Kakryal for allegedly discriminating patients on the basis of treatment.
The Youth Congress activists assembled outside Narayana Hospital at Kakryal and raised slogans in support of patients facing discrimination due to mismanagement of hospital authorities.
While talking to media person, Chib said that an elderly woman undergoing treatment at the aforesaid hospital related to some disease but during the treatment she also tested COVID-19 positive. “Hospital management has denied medical treatment to the elderly women even her family members are ready to pay the expenses,” he said and added that due to carelessness, and negligent attitude of the hospital management, the woman has suffered a lot and later was referred to GMC Jammu for the COVID treatment.

“The Hospital authorities have no right to deny treatment to anyone and to leave the treatment of a patient in the middle on the mercy of God,” Chib asserted.
Protesting Youth Congress leaders and activists demanded that the aforesaid elderly lady had suffered due to mis-management of the hospital authorities and the same should be compensated by providing free treatment to her.
Soon after the protest, Youth Congress UT President Uday took up the matter with Narayana Hospital North Head, Col Bali and apprised him about the ill-treatment of a elderly female patient.
Col Bali assured Uday Chib and other Youth Congress activists that such incident won’t be repeated again in future. “Aforesaid woman will be compensated by providing free treatment at Narayana Hospital. And if any patient undergoing treatment in the hospital was found Covid positive in future, he/she will be provided proper medical treatment rather than shifting to GMC or any other hospital,” Col Bali assured Chib.

Uday Chib also requested Col Bali to provide free medical treatment to people of Panthal Block or on nominal rates since they have provided land for the hospital and are locals.
