Terms loss of lives unfortunate, underlines immediate measures to restore normalcy: Jan

Jammu June 14 (KNS): Provincial President of Youth National Conference, Ajaz Jan on Sunday called for immediate measures to restore normalcy on Line of Control while raising serious concern over escalation of tension between armies of India and Pakistan.

Ajaz Jan said that in last two weeks, almost all the sectors on Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts have witnessed heavy cross border firing and shelling which especially include Nowshera, Keri Rajouri, Manjakote, Tarkundi, Balakote, Mendhar, Shahpur, Degwar, Khari-Karmara, Jhulas, Qasba, Kirni-Mandhar, Krishna Ghati and Poonch sector areas.

" People and army personnel are getting injured with few succumbing to their injuries while there is huge loss of property and things are getting from bad to worst." Jan appealed to the government to take all the possible measures to restore normalcy on borders and to bring to an end the bloodshed.

Mr. Jan also asked government authorities to expedite the measures to provide relief to those local families who suffer loss of property in firing and shelling.

" Most of the time, affected family members are seen running from pillar to post to get their compensation of losses which should be prevented and government authorities should expedite the loss assessment as well as the compensation release process." said Jan.

He also called for a financial package for the LoC shelling affected families. (KNS)
