Poonch, June 04 (KNS): The Youth National Conference on Thursday expressed its concern over hike in price of petroleum products in Jammu and Kashmir which is posing an extra burden of inflation over the common masses.

In it's statement issued to KNS, Ajaz Jan,Former MLA, Provincial President of Youth National Conference said that people from across the country as well as Jammu and Kashmir are already burdened due to lock-down and closure of trade.

" Instead of providing Aid to the affected families, the government is further burdening the masses by lavishing extra duties on petroleum products Gas, Petrol and Diesel." Jan said calling for immediate removal of extra duties being charged.
With a cylinder of liquefied cooking gas (LPG) priced high in Jammu & Kashmir this month, many low income families are finding it difficult to pay for the refills.
Jan said as earnings were not enough to run the family, People had to work. “People cannot pay such a large amount up-front even though they do get the subsidy amount a few days later,” said.

Jan also said that the passenger vehicles are yet to start moving on roads making poor people to suffer a lot.

“Poor people have to walk for hours by foot and aged and patients are worst affected." Jan said calling for a proper policy for restoration of passenger vehicles on roads. (KNS)
