Srinagar, Oct 21 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Thursday stated that those involved in the killings of innocent civilians and minorities will have to pay a huge price for their inhuman and barbarious acts of violence and that the security forces along with administration won’t rest until and unless militancy gets wiped out from the soil of J&K.

Speaking at police commemoration function at armed police complex Zewan Srinagar, LG Sinha said that the Police and security forces are doing a meritorious job in keeping the peace intact.

In a covert reference to the neighbouring country, LG said if someone tries to disrupt peace in J&K, they will be dealt with stern actions and there will be a befitting reply from this side.

Applauding J&K police, LG said that be it fighting COVID19 pandemic, implementing COVID19 appropriate behavior, fighting militancy, or maintining law and order, the J&K police has always been on the frontline.

"I assure the people of J&K that for the safeguard of peace and communal harmony of J&K , we wont rest till militancy gets expunged from the soil of J&K. Those who are involved in these atrocious killings of civilians and minorties are enemies of peace. Admistration along with police and security forces wont allow anyone to dismantle the age old social fabric of J&K,” he said.

LG appealed to civil society and other prominent citizens of J&k to raise their voices against such merciless killings of civilians in valley.

He said that by condemning these despicable and brutal killings of humanity in one voice will help administration, police and security forces to speed up their operations against these killers of humanity.

“India being a strong nation along with J&K are willing to give a stern reply to all those who try to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere,” he stated.

"I pay homage and rich tributes to all the policemen who were killed in militant attacks during encounters or in the line of duty. I also pay my heartfelt condolences to all those civilians and minorities who were killed during the recent militant attacks,” he added.

LG announced that Srinagar will have a hostel-cum-school facility for the children of police martyrs soon. 

He said that crime cases are surging and police is upgrading its technical capabilities to deal with various social crimes in j&K.

"I believe that technology will help us to curb and fight the crimes more swiftly,” he added. (KNS)
