Will close our shop if Gupkar Declaration signatories will get succeed in restoring Article 370, 35(A): JKAP

Srinagar, August 26 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) on Wednesday said that parties of Gupkar Declaration should come up with “concrete” and “time-bound” assurance to people of J&K for restoration of Article 370 and 35(A) instead of airing “impracticable slogans” and if forum will get succeed in restoring special status of J&K, party will close its political shop.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a senior leader of JKAP, wishing not to be named, said signatories of Gupkar Declaration should first clarify where they stand? He said the forum was meant for protection of special status of J&K but it has miserably failed in safeguarding the interests of people and now are duping masses by “impracticable slogans” which however are impossible to happen.
He said these political parties should set a time for restoration of Article 370 and 35(A) and desist from befooling masses as they did in past. He also said if they get succeed in this endeavor, JKAP will shut down its office and abide their directions wholeheartedly.
“If parties of Gupkar Declaration assure people of J&K that Article 370 and 35(A) will be restored within a specific period of time and then it gets succeeded in it, JKAP will close its shop and follow them”.
He added gone are those days when people were used to astray by fake promises. “JKAP doesn’t believe in keeping people in dark. We will never tread the path of deceitful politics but always call people towards realities which can happen”.
Pertinently JKAP President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday presided an important meeting with senior party leaders wherein political situation across J&K was discussed threadbare. According to party sources the meeting started at 03:00 pm and continued till 07:00 pm. However the meeting, as per party sources, will remain continue on Thursday also after a unanimous resolution about the overall political situation will be made public.
Sources said that around 30 party leaders from Kashmir province attended the meeting and shared their valuable opinion with party president.
“Besides over all political developments, upcoming LA polls were also discussed in the meeting”, sources said. (KNS)
