Srinagar January 23: (KNSA) Department of Linguistics and Literature from the School of Humanities and Liberal Arts, CLUJ, organised a Webinar on the topic " Language, Linguistics and Media" for the students of the School to apprise them about the relevance and importance of 'Language and Linguistics' and it's career options. Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Manoj Dhar was the Chief Patron under whose patronage and encouragement, the webinar was successfully organised. Prof. Bhopinder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, Patron of the event provided his unflinching support and motivation for the conduct of the webinar.

The resource persons for the day long activity were Prof. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, faculty from the School of Languages and Literature, SMVDU, Ms. Madhvi Sharma, Senior Announcer, All India Radio and Ms. Devyani Rana, CEO, Take One Digital Network. Prof. Reena Salaria, Coordinator Department of Linguistics and Literature, welcomed the resource persons and introduced the theme of the webinar.

Dr. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi spoke on " Scope and Job Perspects of Linguistics ". Ms. Madhvi Sharma interacted with students on the topic 'Relevance of Language and Linguistic in Media'. Ms. Devyani Rana presented her lecture on the topic ' Linguistics and a career in media'. The resource persons shared an indepth and comprehensive knowledge about the role, relevance and importance of Language and it's career options in Teaching, Publishing, IT, Print and Electronic Media. The lectures were followed by question-answer session with the students.

The webinar was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Dean faculty of Arts, Dr. Geetanjaji A Rana. The webinar was attended by Dean Students Welfare and Coordinator, Department of English, Dr. Twinkle Suri, Faculty of the School, Dr. Eva Sharma and Dr. Indu Sharma.
