Vakil welcomes India, Pakistan agreement to observe ceasefire

Jammu February 25:(KNS) Senior Vice President Jammu Kashmir People’s Confrence and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil on Thursday welcomed the agreement by India and Pakistan to observe strictly the ceasefire and to stop cross border firings.

In a statement issued to "Kashmir News Service" on Thursday, Vakil said that the ceasefire agreement should be followed by a comprehensive sustainable dialogue process.

He hoped that both the parties-India, Pakistan should respond positively and carve out ways for meaningful dialogue so that the prevailing bloodshed ends in LoC and in J&K.

Vakil said “Iit would bring great relief to the people of the J&K as peace on the borders was the first essential step to “a larger understanding.” He expressed hope that it would sustain.

“I welcome the much needed move and reiterate that these welcome measures bring great relief to the people residing in the vicinity,” Vakil said.

This decision of ceasefire would definitely stop frequent cross border skirmishes that has taken heavy toll on the lives of common people of J&K of both sides of the line of control as ceasefire violations lead to resultant tax of common man and poor people. Vakil has hailed this decision of ceasefire and once again the leadership of both the countries have shown statesmanship and would definitely tread a path of peace and dialogue as war is no solution to any issue.(KNS)
