Terms it a complete regional bias, demands probe

Srinagar March 28 (KNS):  Vice Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference and former Minister  Abdul Gani Vakil today termed the recently announced Banking Associate results of J&K Bank a complete regional bias. He said that it has been revealed that out of the total 1500 candidates who have qualified only 200 belong to Kashmir division while the rest are from Jammu.

Statement issued to kashmir news service (KNS), "We are not against recruitments of any region. But the figures raise a question mark on the process. There seem some elements in the J&K Bank who are showing bias and it will create a wedge between two regions," Vakil said.

He said are the Kashmiri students too dumb that they couldn't qualify this exam. "It's further alienating the youth of Kashmir. The recruitment process must be probed and things must be made clear. We want an impartial investigation into the process and the mode of recruitment," he said.

Vakil also questioned the "Normalisation process" of counting marks that was followed in the examination. "Can those at helm of the affairs apprise us with this Normalisation process. Is it to cut marks of students whom you believe has an easy question paper compared to others. This all seems a shady recruitment and it's not acceptable to us at all," he said and added that there should be distribution of quota to both the divisions and not the way it has been done.(KNS)
