Budgam 24 March (KNS): Unknown Gunmen looted J&K Bank Branch in Central kashmir's Budgam District on Wednesday.

Bank official told news-agency kashmir news service (KNS) Over phone that, armed Robbers who were five in number entered into J&K Bank branch at chandapora in central kashmir's Budgam District and assaulted employees who were deputed there.

"The employees were threatened and some gunshots were also fired.They looted Rs two lakh cash besides one 12-bore rifle from the bank guard namely Abdul Rashid Sofi of Sanoor Kalipora",he added.

Official also said that, the employees present there tried their best to foil this robbery attempt but they couldn't succeed as they were assaulted by these unknown Gunmen.

He also said that, People present there also dared to try to suffocate them but they failed.

Pertinent to mention here that this is the 3rd attempt by robbers in last twelve days wherein they have looted cash from bank.

Earlier, On March 12, a Grameen Bank branch at Kunzer Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was robbed of Rs 2.24 lakh.

Similarly, on March 16 last, three armed robbers had looted Rs 3.5 lakh from a Grameen Bank branch at Panzinara Srinagar.(KNS)
