Anantnag, March 11 (KNS): Two militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and the security forces in Kandipora area of Bijbehara area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday evening.

An official told news agency KNS that two militants have been killed while search operation was still going on in the area.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police in a Tweet said: "#AnantnagEncounterUpdate: 01 #unidentified #terrorist killed. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice."

In another Tweet police said: "#AnantnagEncounterUpdate: 01 more #unidentified #terrorist killed (total 02). Search going on. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice."

Earlier, on Wednesday evening, a joint team of Police, Army’s 03 RR and CRPF had launched a Cordon and Search Operation  based on a specific information about the presence of militants in the area. (KNS)
