Two more dies of Covid-19, toll reaches 38


Srinagar, June 06, (KNS): Two more patients died of Covid-19 in J&K on Saturday, taking the number to 38, officials said.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), two elderly patients including 70-year male from Shopian and another one 62-year old woman from Jammu died at CD Hospital Srinagar and GMC Jammu respectively.
Official told KNS that a 72-year old man from south Kashmir’s Shopian district was admitted in Chest Diseases (CD) Hospital Srinagar on Friday after having multiple complications. He said the nasopharyngeal swab of the patient showed positive results after which he died on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile Deputy Medical Superintendent GMC Jammu Dr Kirti Bhushan said the 62-year elderly woman from Miran Sahib Jammu was admitted on May 24 and tested positive subsequently who died today morning. “She was suffering from heart and orthopedic ailments”, he said.
However with two more fresh fatalities, the death toll due to the virus in J&K has reached to 38. (KNS)
