Two brothers among four dead after under construction well collapsed in Kupwara

Kupwara, July 02 (KNS): Four persons died after a well they were working on, collapsed in Warsun Dardpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
Reports reached to Kashmir News Service (KNS) that four persons who were engaged in construction of well died in Warsun Dardpora of Kralpora area after it collapsed.
Soon after the incident, rescue teams from Police and allied departments rushed to the spot to retrieve the person safely.
“Four persons retrieved from the well in a state of unconsciousness and were shifted to sub-district hospital Kralpora where doctors declared them brought dead on arrival”, Tehsildar Kralpora Tariq Ahmad told KNS.
He identified the deceased persons as Showkat Khan son of Ghulam Hassan Khan, Altaf Ahmad Sheikh son of Mahad Sheikh, Mumtaz Ahmad and Altaf Ahmad sons of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din.
He added that deceased laborers came down into the well from 30 feet height and fell unconsciousness due to gas poured out from the well. (KNS)
