Kupwara, Nov 10 (KNS): Assistant Regional Transport office Kupwara on Tuesday organised a program on Road safety and Covid-19 awareness at the Kupwara Town Hall.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), ARTO Kupwara Mukhtar Ahmad along with his team explained the basic traffic rules to be observed while driving on road. The programme was aimed at making people, especially drivers and federation members, aware of the traffic rules and safety, and their responsibilities while on road.

ARTO Kupwara, at the occasion, delivered a detailed presentation to acquaint everyone with traffic rules and Covid-19 awareness.The aim was to create consciousness among locals and drivers and to sensitize them to important road etiquettes like the importance of Social distancing, use of masks, first-aid, wearing safety-helmet & seat-belt, safe passage to hospital referrals and fire tenders on priority.

President’s of various federations and public transport associations attended the programme who advised drivers to follow the traffic rules and safety measures, avoid reckless and drunken driving, and keep their documents intact.

Meanwhile a preparatory meeting regarding arrangement of vehicles for upcoming elections was also held and ARTO Kupwara urged drivers and vehicle owners to support the administration in bringing down traffic congestion in the district. (KNS)
