Baramulla, Sep 19 (KNS): Teachers of education Zone Singhpora Kalan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla distort on Saturday alleged of nepotism and favouritism in ZEO office and expressed shocked after came to know about the best teacher award of the zone being conferred to an undeserving candidate.
According to the teachers the Zonal Education office Singhpora Kalan's decision to confer the best teacher award to a teacher sparked major controversy in the whole education Zone .
They also said “the Zonal Education Officer Singhpora Kalan today handed over the award for the year 2019 - 20 to a Teacher at programme in Higher Secondary School Delina Baramulla, however the teachers from the zone strongly reacted and protested against its selection process.”
A Teacher Ajaz Ahmad Bhat talking to KNS said we were shocked and surprised to know that how a teacher has been awarded as best Teacher as he is not among the deserving candidate for this prestigious award.
The Teachers alleged that despite being a teacher Zahoor Ahmad Dar is hardly found in school and has accused him for neglecting his duties too. The said is attached with ZEO office for last two years on non teaching assignments and has close intemecy with ZEO and his staff.
Teacher's said giving an award to an undeserving teacher lowers the prestige of such an honour.
Teacher's were demanding to review the criteria and norms on which the award has been given to an undeserving Teacher and demand a strict action should be taken against all the zonal office and his staff.
Moreover a delegation of Teachers headed by Ajaz Ahmad were requesting the worthy principal secretary education Dr Asgar Samoon , Director School Education Kashmir, District Development Commissioner Baramulla and Chief Education officer Baramulla to look into the matter and demanded immediate inquiry and strict action against the favouritism and nepotism shown by Zonal Education officer.

However, When KNS contacted to ZEO Singpora Kalan Javid Ahmad he said those teachers who are having complains should have contacted his office in this regard, and assured that the committee in this regard will be formed so know the facts,
He further said that if the teachers found undeserving for the award that will be taken from him.
More over ZEO said that if the allegations found wrong strict action will be taken against those who are behind it (KNS)
