Take cue from Delhi High Court verdict, use RT-PCR testing: Kadfeen to Govt

Srinagar, Sep 17 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Thursday has asked the Jammu and Kashmir government to take a cue from Delhi High Court that has in its latest verdict declared that the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) is only 60% accurate and RT-PCR is the way forward.
In a statement issued to KNS reads, Kadfeen said that the rapid manner in which Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) are conducted in Jammu and Kashmir is presenting an entirely wrong estimate of the COVD 19 figures and besides exposing people severe health risks is also misguiding those tasked to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
The Congress leader said that he has been since day one demanding that government must stop the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and should rely on credible testing method like RT-PCR. “Now when the High Court of Delhi has observed that RT-PCR is the way forward, one wonders why the government here is still hell bent to use unreliable rapid testing method on people. Its results are deeply misguiding and could make the situation apocalyptic in more ways than one. If the government truly intends to save peoples lives, it must go for the RT-PCR as a method or else, we are all in unison plunging into deeper and unimaginable health crises,” said Kadfeen.(KNS)
