Suspension of educational activities across J&K may extend: Samoon


Srinagar, June 06, (KNS): Government on Saturday said that closure of schools across J&K may extend as most of educational institutions in parts of Jammu have been converted into quarantine centers.
Principal Secretary Education Department Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon (IAS) stated that the suspension of educational activities across J&K may extend as most of the schools alongside NH44 have been converted into quarantine centers which needs to be vacated and sanitized if schools are reopened.
“Spoke to Secty GAD; GAD order regarding schools closure till 15 June stands; may extend further depending upon situation; several Jmu Govt schools alongside NH44 converted into quarantine centers need to be vacated and sanitized before schools reopen”, he tweeted.
Earlier on May 29, Government ordered closure of educational institutions, training institutes in the Union Territory of J&K till 15 June, 2020.
“In continuation to the Government Order No. 477-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 17.04.2020, read with Government Order No. 544-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 08.05.2020, it is hereby ordered that all the Educational Institutions/Training Institutes in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir shall remain closed till 15th of June, 2020”, order reads.
