Surajpora Rajwar residents appeal for macadamizing vital roads

Handwara, June 16 (KNS): Residents of Surajpora Rajwar Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday expressed strong resentment against R&B department who neglected vital stretches of the area and macadamized insignificant roads.

According to KNS the residents said the R&B Department has started macadamization of several links roads in the village one year back but neglected the necessary and vital stretches.
A residents of the area told KNS over phone that the roads leading to orchards were macadamized and other important roads left without macadamization by the department leaving large number of people in the area to suffer.
The residents appealed authorities to intervene in the matter and ensure all vital roads to be macadamized.

When KNS contacted Executive Engineer R&B, Division Handwara Muzzafar Ahmad Khuroo , he said the work has been done under “NABARD” meant solely for horticulture and agriculture purposes. He added if locals have some issue in this regard, they can approach my office and I will surely rectify if found genuine. (KNS)
