Srinagar Police to initiate strict legal action against the people possessing Invalid/Fake Curfew Passes.

The world is fighting an invisible enemy to which our land is not immune.

The global pandemic of COVID-19 has created havoc in Europe, USA and some other countries and we are also witnessing a rise in the COVID-19 Positive cases.

Apart from personal hygiene, social distancing has been a fundamental precaution to be adopted while fighting the invisible enemy, Corona Virus.

In this fight a no. of departments are fighting the Virus on frontline, be it Health, Police, Civil Administration or like services but with the single aim to defeat the Corona Virus and in this backdrop the nationwide lockdown was announced and implemented.

In this background, Civil Administration has issued curfew passes to employees of essential services to make the essential departments function in these tough times.

There were some complaints about the curfew passes being copied or forged by some unscrupulous elements and in this regard Srinagar

Police at its various checking points in the City, confiscated more than 100 curfew passes from the people. After verifying the veracity of these curfew passes, a good number of them were found Invalid/Forged.

Srinagar Police wants to make it clear that anyone found in possession of a fake/forged/invalid curfew pass or attempts to produce such pass at any Police Checking Point, shall be dealt severely under law.

Srinagar Police once again request the people who have to attend to their duties or emergencies and have to move to and fro from Srinagar City to carry only Valid curfew Passes all the time of travel.
