Srinagar, July 21 (KNS): Srinagar police today busted a gang of car lifters and recovered five stolen vehicles from them.

According to a police official, Police Post Bemina received an information from Amir Maqbool son of  Mohd Maqbool resident of Hyderpora Srinagar  that his Maruti Car Bearing Reg. No. JK01K-4803 has been stolen from bemina.

"In this connection, case FIR No.142/2020 U/S 379 IPC was registered in Police Station Parimpora and during investigation many suspects were called to PP and after their detailed questioning, Police was able to get a lead and apprehend one accused-Mohd Umer Gagro Son of Gh Rasool Gagro, resident of  Razi Kadal Saifdinpora Srinagar who is believed to be a King-Pin and is involved many theft cases,"  he said.

On his disclosure 5 vehicles were recovered by Police Post Bemina- ECCO  No. JK01R/8243,  Santro Chasis No. 646189,  Maruti JK01G/3766,  JK01K/4803,   Maruti  800 bearing Eng No. 2495820.which were stolen from many areas in Srinagar District .

"Several suspects have been questioned and some members of the module have surfaced , who are absconding since then. Police is expecting their arrest soon and more recoveries from them," he said.

For this a Special investigation team comprising of SDPO West Furqan Qadir & Incharge PP Bemina has been formed under close Supervision of SP West.
