Srinagar August 08:(KNS) Acting tough against social crimes, Srinagar police have arrested 03 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money from them.

A police party from Police Station Parimpora raided a gambling site at Maloora following an input about gambling activities and apprehended three gamblers.

Officers have seized playing cards, 01 watch, 01 mobile phone and stake money of ?29,950/- from the gamblers. They have been identified as Mehrajudin Malla resident of Ganastaan sumbal, Ab Rashid Goroo resident of Khowjabagh Maloora and Shakil Ahmad Khan resident of Qamarwari Srinagar. They have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 164/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Parimpora and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.(KNS)
