Social welfare department stands as corona warriors with underprivileged during Corona Lockdown: Priya Sethi


Jammu 16 May (KNS): Former minister Priya Sethi today has lauded the Social Welfare Deptt of UT of Jammu and Kashmir as number of initiatives are taken by the deptt in the covid 19 situation .
Priya said that The whole World stands in strong grips of a pandemic that has affected over million of lives around the globe in the past few months and in India too We have lost loved ones.

She added that This virus has not differentiated amongst people of different ages, creeds, religion or ethnicities but one thing is that it has united us as a civilization to fight together and our cornona warriors have played very important role by risking their lives and same after the Directions from the PM,our officials ,workers from almost all departments worked very hard and served the country.

She added that staff of almost all deptts are doing service of frontline warriors combating COVID-19 which includes doctors, para medicos, security forces,JK police, PDD and PHE work-force, sanitation workers, milk, fruit and vegetable vendors, scribes,Social welfare deptt and others in one way or the other.

The deptts are working day and night and we all should appreciate our administration for the same

She added that in UT of J&K, despite lockdown and related limitations, the social welfare Department too is delivering effectively welfare activities and measures among targeted beneficiaries.

As per reports During this lock down period the Department has been able to reach out to approximately 20 lakh persons in the UT with welfare measures either in cash or in kind or through counseling or awareness programmes/visits.
She added that from reports that app, 734798 beneficiaries( Old Age, Women in Distress, physically challenged persons) have been provided pensioner benefits under Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) @ Rs 1000/person/month, Approx. 150457 beneficiaries have been covered under Old Age pension, Widow pension and Disability pension under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) @ Rs. 1000 /person/month and approx 145567 (excluding Ladakh) NSAP beneficiaries are also being provided Rs. 500/- ex-gratia (Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Yojana Package)
She added that not only this the students have been awarded Pre-Post and Merit-cum-Means Scholarship and other scholarships through DBT registering a record increase of 250% over previous financial year.

Former minister added that lakhs of people are benefited by Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) by the deptt
.
Foemer minister lauded the department for intensive awareness and informative campaign by deptt which was launched on Radio, TV and Social Media which is consistently being used to propagating the idea of the Government being available for the families of COVID 19 workers at every front.
She appreciated that no “112” helpline under extensive use by children Old – age , disabled and widows during, COVID-19

Priya while Lauding local administration for not leaving any stone unturned in fight against coronavirus ,She added that “The jobs being accomplished by aforesaid frontline army of workers are very difficult and even life-threatening but the enthusiasm shown by these brave men/women is unmatchable and surely deserves kudos from government and the people.
She said that all of us should be thankful to the administration as corona warriors and we salute the determination and grit in these heroes who are the real heroes in this time.
Former minister said that India shall be safe and shall emerge victorious in this fight and we will win definetly and that will happen because of the selfless sacrifice of these employees ,workers who are also our corona warrior this time. She added in a statement (KNS)
