Srinagar June 9 (KNS): Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement has appealed Chief Secretary and Secretary Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS & CA) Department to ensure that money siphoned by officials of FCS & CA Budgam is paid back to consumers who mostly belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.

In a statement to KNS, Chairman RTI Movement Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat said that they have submitted a statement of facts before the Joint Director in Directorate of FCS & CA Kashmir who has been appointed as Investigating Officer by Govt in connection with misappropriation of funds and denial of BPL ration to dozens of consumers in Loolipora village of Chadoora in Budgam.

" Joint Director FCS & CA visited Loolipora village yesterday to access the situation . People were aghast against the department and they came out and explained the factual position to the officer. We were asked to submit a written statement of facts that we did and now we are witing for the Govt to take a call on this issue. We appeal Government especially Chief Secretary and Secretary FCS & CA J&K to ensure reimbursement of the siphoned money to BPL consumers in Loolipora and similar probe should be undertaken in other districts as well. RTI Movement is working on this at its own level and we are collecting details from other villages of Budgam and other districts also which we will submit to Govt soon" said Dr Raja Muzaffar

I brought the matter into notice of Assistant Director (AD) FCS & CA Budgam 1 month back as Store keeper Loolipora didn't pay any attention . AD FCS & CA Budgam assured to act but didn't . Even a team lead by our another activist Advocate Nazir Ahmad and some aggrieved villagers of Loolipora went to meet AD Budgam him but he didn't take any action and we were forced to seek intervention of Secretary FCS & CA and informed media as well " said Mushtaq Ahmad Lone District Coordinator Budgam J&K RTI Movement
