Shamsabari Battalion Of Shakti Vijay Brigade Organises Medical Camp

 

Srinagar, October 01:(KNS) Villages in and around Tangdhar bowl are located in remote and inaccessible areas which remain cut off from rest of the valley for approximately five months in a year. Due to lack of adequate government medical infrastructure, transport and consequent non availability of periodic check-ups and vaccinations, the general health of population and their families is at risk of ailments. Army has been undertaking several civic action projects to uplift the quality of life of the general populace, with a view to provide succor to the people as part of Sadbhavana. One such initiative was under taken by the Shamsabari Battalion of Shakti Vijay Brigade by conducting a medical camp at SM Hill near Sadhna Pass in Karnah Tehsil in the fight against COVID-19.

The medical camp conducted screening, diagnosis and treatment of common diseases as well as imparted health education. The camp also focused on imparting educating on preventive measures to be undertaken against COVID-19, like frequent washing of hands/use of alcohol based sanitizer, respiratory etiquettes using tissue/handkerchief while coughing and sneezing etc. The medical camp provided solace to more than 367 beneficiaries which included the elderly, women and children. The conduct of medical camp will not only help in preventing spread of COVID-19 in Tangdhar bowl but will also strengthen the relations as a Humsaya to further build upon peace in the area. As part of the medical camp, medical assistance in terms of distribution of hand gloves, sanitizer, masks and general medicines (as per prescription of the doctors) was also done.(KNS)
