Devotees across Kashmir participate in nightlong prayers

Srinagar, Apr 29 (KNS): Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida were celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across the Kashmir valley as lakhs of people joined the nightlong prayers in mosques, shrines and other holy places.
 
Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS), said that main congregation was organized at Hazratbal shrine, which houses wherein lakhs of people, including women and children, joined the nightlong prayers. 
 
They said that the devotees, who had come from different parts of the valley took part in special prayers and listened to sermons on the importance of Shab-e-Qadr and teachings of Prophet (SAW)
 
Similar congregations were organized at the shrine of Hazrat Mehboob-ul-Alam on the hill of Kohi-e-Maran, Jehab Sahib Soura, Shahree Kalashpora, Hazrat Gousul Azam Dastigeer Khanyar and Sari Bala, Syed Sahib Sonawar, Hazrat Sheikh Dawood, Khanqah-e-Maula and other mosques and holy places in Srinagar.
 
Religious scholars and Ulemas in their sermons highlighted the teachings of Islam and urged people to follow the life of Prophet. A number of organizations had made Sehri arrangements for devotees at different places. 
 
People had also thronged Charar-e-Sharief shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Nooruddin Wali and other districts and tehsil headquarters to observe Shab-e-Qadr.
 
Notably, Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-vida prayers were not allowed by the authorities at historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar, citing inputs about disruption of law and order situation in the area. (KNS)
