No Need To Be Worried; CO, Other Branches Functioning Normally, Says Top Official

Srinagar, July 09 (KNS): Few employees of J&K Bank’s corporate headquarter on Thursday tested Covid-19 positive that prompted authorities to close down several departments. However a top official of the bank clarified that there is no need to be worried as Bank is competent to take utmost care and safety of its employees.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), panic gripped at Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s corporate headquarters in Srinagar after few bank executives tested Covid-19 positive. Reports said that soon after the incident, authorities decided to close down several departments and shifted infected persons to quarantine purpose. It also added that the incident led to worrisome in the entire corporate headquarters where thousands of employees are working.
However a senior official of J&K Bank Ltd. told KNS over phone that few employees working in Bank’s Corporate headquarter tested positive after Bank took volunteer initiative to check the symptoms of infection among employees. He said those found infected of Covid-19 have been moved for quarantine purpose.
Official clarified that there is no need to be worried as other departments in Corporate headquarter is functioning normally.
Official said that only those departments have been closed down where employees tested Covid-19 positive, however rest of the departments are functioning normally. He added soon after few employees tested positive, entire Corporate headquarter was sanitized with anti-virus chemicals.
“Head office and associated departments in Corporate headquarter have been fumigated by anti-virus chemicals twice so far. Further the entire Corporate headquarter to be fumigated tomorrow to maintain Covid-19 free atmosphere for wellbeing and security of employees and visitors”, official said.
He said the Bank has started to find out contact history of Covid-19 positive employees and by Monday they too have will be taken into administrative or home quarantine.
He maintained that the Bank has espoused all precautionary measures in this regard and the staff members will be taken care of. (KNS)
