Several areas of Karnah declared red zone

Tangdhar, April 13 (KNS):Immediately after three more persons tested positive in Dildar village of Karnah in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, the administration has declared it a red zone and the adjoining villages of Dildar area as bufferzone.

Accrdimg to Kashmir News Service (KNS), 7 pesons have so far been affected by the deadly epidemic in Gomal, Baghbala and Dildar villages of Karnah Tehsil.
On Saturday, samples of 15 people were tested at GMC Baramulla from Quarantine Center Kandi Karnah, out of which 3 positives came out. The administration said the three are also having travel history of Markaz Nizamuddin.

Meanwhile samples of 27 more people had been sent out on Sunday which remain to be examined. Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat SDM karnah told KNS that 15 out of the 42 samples sent were tested and 3 came positive. He said that the Dildar area has been declared red zone while the areas around it including Tangdar, Jadda ,Kandi, Batpura and Triboni are designated buffer zones.

The administration has so far screened 1,000 people, who had come from overseas and from different parts of the valley. In Karnah, 765 people are housed in Quarantine, while more than 63 people have been housed in the Degree College Quarantine Center. Officials said that 96 have already completed Quarantine duration.
