SEJ organises national webinar on Vedic Mathematics


Jammu August 09:(KNS) Directorate of School Education Jammu, Saturday, organized a National Webinar to acquaint the Teachers of Jammu and Kashmir about the Vedic Mathematics and its utility for students.

The online educational event was held in collaboration with National Council of Teacher Scientists (J&K CHAPTER)-India, a unit of Raman Science and Technology Foundation Gujarat, All India Ramanujan Math Club India (Registered under Vipnet, Vigyan Prasar Department of Science and Technology Delhi).

The webinar was inaugurated by Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta.

In her inaugural address, the Director stressed on the need and importance of Vedic Mathematics in the present times of rising competition. She said that students need to equip themselves with methods and techniques that will help them in increasing their efficiency levels. “And Vedic Mathematics was one such filed that has a lot to give to students in general and society at large,” she added.

By using Vedic Mathematics, the students will not only be able to excel in competitive examinations but also in life, she said. She lauded the efforts of chairman NCTS, NSTF, AIRMC, APJNYYS, Dr. C.M. Joshi for bringing to the teachers of Jammu and Kashmir this concept. She asked the teachers to take full benefit of the webinar by acquiring and assimilating as much knowledge as possible.

Mathematics Professor, DESM NCERT New Delhi, Dr.T P Sharma, the guest of honor focused on teaching of Mathematics in play way and joyful manner to give students proper understanding of the concepts and help them to relate the mathematical learning to day to day life situations.

The resource person P Devaraj, founder secretary Cosmic Math, in a very simple and coherent way explained the various mathematical problems/calculations/computations etc. Various queries of participants were also addressed by him.

The webinar was live streamed on Facebook page of National Council Of Teacher Scientist India and other social sites by thousands of teachers and students across the length and breadth of all the 10 districts of Jammu and Kashmir UT. Teachers from other states also attended the webinar.

Earlier, Lecturer, GGHSS Arnia, Kuldeep Gupta and Director NCTS (J&K), as host, welcomed the guests and other participants from all over the country. He gave a brief account of the need for learning Vedic Mathematics and how it can help the students in holistic development of their brain.

The Chairman NCTS, NSTF, AIRMC, APJAKNCYS, Dr. Chandermouli Joshi thanked the Director School Education, Jammu for her support and cooperation in the successful organization of the program. He assured her that more such programs on science and mathematics will be organized in future as well.

Nodal Officer, Fit India Movement, Govind Sharma; I/C DSEJ Home Assignments, Dr. Surinder Sharma and Head Conselling Cell DSEJ, Romesh Sharma coordinated towards the smooth conduct of the Webinar.
