Sarpanchs, Panchs protest, Locks down BDO Office, demands BDO for block Teetwal

Teetwal Oct, 12(KNS) Group of Sarpanchs and panchs on Monday afternoon held protest demonstration against District Administration Kupwara for failing to sanction Block Development Officer for Teetwal block.
Protesters alleged that the failure to sanction BDO has brought all the developmental works to complete halt.
According to reports reached to KNS, that the protesters assembled near Block Development Office Teetwal and locked down the BDO Office.
“Block Development Office Teetwal will remain closed unless new BDO is assigned the work,” they said.
Protesters said that Teetwal Block consists of areas like, chmkoot, Gundigujra, Bahdurkoot, and Sadapora
According Kashmir News Servive (KNS) The Sarpanchs and Panchs of various halqas of Teetwal Block including BDC Chairperson Teetwal on Monday lockdown Block development office (BDO) office Teetwal and held strong protest demanding posting of a BDO in the block.
Two month ago the government posted a fulltime BDO in the block after a gap of eight years, on 30th of last month the government issued an order No: RD & PR of 2020 in which the BDO posted at Teetwal block transferred and posted at Sukhnag Budgam, Since the elected Panchayat members of Teetwal block continue protesting against the Government order they demanding revocation of order elsewhere post a fulltime BDO in the Block.
Presently block is under the charge of Block Development Officer, Tanghdar.
The Sarpanchs and Panchs were demanding intervention of higher authorities so that a BDO is posted immediately at Teetwal Block. They said the concerned BDO prefers to stay at his primary posting Tangdar thereby ignoring Teetwal.
They said in the absence of BDO at Teetwal, people are suffering immensely.
"We suffer in the absence of a BDO. Our bills are pending just for want of signature of the BDO. We urge higher authorities to intervene in to the matter and appoint a separate BDO for block office Teetwal," said Chairperson Block development Council, Nishada Parveen.
