Jammu July 25:(KNS) Senior Bharta Janta Party (BJP) woman leader Ruheena Shazad said about 6000 NYC’s, highly qualified Youth were engaged by the Government through direct recruitment board headed by Deputy Commissioners Of J&K. In 2010, we were engaged through a proper selection procedure in which selection committees were framed ,advertisement notices were published in local dailies, merit lists were framed, interviews were held and all the NYC’s were selected on merit basis by the concerned Deputy Commissioners. After selection procedure we were deployed in various government departments like Education , Revenue, RDD, Health , Youth Services and Sports etc. All the NYC’s are highly qualified ,meritorious and are working with great honesty, sincerity and with full dedication in the departments since 2010. In Education department our NYC’s are working as Teachers , in Revenue like Deputy Commisssioners office/SDM Offices/Tehsil offices our NYC’s are working as junior Assistants and same is the case with rest of the departments .We made various representations to Government from time to time for our regularization but till date nothing happened good in our favour. In 2014 a cabinet decision was issued by the then NC –Congress govt. vide cabinet order no -192/Cir/2014 dated 22-10-2014 and it was decided to absorb the services of NYC’s in Education department but that was not implemented on ground.
Thereafter on December 21,2017 previous Govt. led by PDP and BJP came up with SRO 520 for regularization of CSLWS ,DRWS,HDF etc and clubbed all the meritorious NYC’s with them which is totally unacceptable as there is no future/ job security for us. SRO 520 itself is anti youth as there is no permanent job policy for the NYCs and our future is in jeopardy. It is humble request to Honorable Lieutenant Governor J&K Shri Girish Chandra Murmu for early revocation of SRO 520 as Govt. did in case of SRO202 and change our pattern to a new job/regularization policy like ReT’s, ReK, ReZ etc so that NYC’s will get a permanent job and will work strenuously for the whole UT of J&K and Ladakh.
We are working on a salary of Rs 2500 per month since 2010 which is meager amount to survive the growing inflation as we are not able to fulfill our daily basic needs and should be enhanced with immediate effect .
During this Covid-19 Pandemic when whole world is under lockdown , our NYC Warriors are active on ground and work 24x7 in Hospitals, Quarantine Centres , control Rooms , District Stores etc giving their best to the government but without any permanent job policy and without any insurance cover. There is no insurance cover for our NYC Warriors and if something happens wrong to anyone of them during this pandemic,then who will be responsible and who will look after their families. I urge Honourable Lieutenant Governor Shri Girish Chandra Murmu sb for early inclusion of NYC’s in the insurance Scheme recently launched .
After the creation of Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir, a high empowered committee was constituted by the Honorable Lieutenant Governor Shri Girish Chandra Murmu under the Chairmanship of Honorable Chief Secretary J&K Shri B.R Subrahmanyam for examining the issues related to various Schemes vide Govt. order no -294-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 27-02-2020 and NYC issue was among one of them .Since then, not a single meeting has been conducted till date for finalizing the NYC issue. I urgue Honorable Chief Secretary Shri B.R Subrahmanyam for his personal intervention in our issue so that it will be sorted out ambically and NYC’s will be provided with a better job policy like ReT.(KNS)
