Baramulla, Oct 08 (KNS): Residents of Sangri Bala of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday expressed anger against R&B Department for allegedly using sub-standard material in macadamizing roads, which has collapsed in less than two weeks.
Aggrieved told KNS that few days back Roads & Buildings Department macadamized Sangri road but the surface of the road was macadamized during dark. They said just ten days after the surface of the road got damaged.
“This is a matter of serious concern. We knocked the doors of department from several years to get the road macadamized but unfortunately our years of efforts made us happier only for ten days as surface of the road got badly damaged due to sub-standard material used in”, locals said.
As per reports the gravel used in the macadamizing process has been accumulated on the road side which has caused further hardships in the movement of people.
Locals appealed District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla and other concerned higher officials to investigate the matter and book the faulty contractors into task. They impressed upon the administration to come up with fair investigations into the matter so that looters of public exchequer will be exposed in public. They further appealed authorities to re-macadamize their dilapidated roads. (KNS)
