Pattan Dec 07 (KNS):Residents of Reshipora hanjiwera of Pattan town staged protest on Monday against the jalshakti department for not providing safe drinking water.

The Residents including women and children, shouting slogans against the jalshakti department and held a dharna on Srinagar Baramulla national highway at Hanjiwera and disrupted traffic movement for half an hour.

The protesters told Media persons jal shakti department failed to provide safe drinking water to us from last one month, our area is neglected, we are facing many hardships in these days of chilly winter and the authorities are paying attention to our genuine grievance.

Meanwhile the protesters despersed peacefully after the assurance of Tehsildar Pattan and SHO pattan, they assured residents that their problems will be redressed very soon(KNS).
