Regret doesn't ameliorate sufferings of thousands who were tortured under PSA: Kashmir youth to Omar

Srinagar July 30:(KNS) Omar Abdullah's assertion that he regrets that during his tenure as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir he didn't revoke the controversial Public Saftey Act, a 'lawless law' that has ensured the cyclic detention of thousands of native youth, is nothing but the latest stunts from the Abdullah family which is hoping for a political comeback in the light of failure of New Delhi to create an alternate mainstream.

In a statement Youth leader Adnan Manzoor said, A PSA detainee himself, which he now flaunts on his Twitter bio, Omar must understand that he can't erase a barbaric legacy of his grandfather, who imposed the law that helps the state to ensure young Kashmir people are trapped in a 'revolving door'. Omar must understand in his political play he must not use the sufferings that were perpetrated by the successive governments including his. Regrets cant undo torture and pain of people.

Please put this hipocracy to an immediate end. There are much better ways to attract Kashmir youth to participate in politics but years of deception has taught them well to not fall for hoax promises. A leader must introspect why the youth are disgruntled and anger and shun repeating old tricks.(KNS)
